Here in America, we have a holiday called Halloween on October 31st.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloween
Does your country also participate? Did you? If so, how?
By chance does your family mark October 31st as Dia de Los Muertos?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_of_the_Dead
If so, what did you do yesterday?
Last night here in AZ I attended a party in recognition of the last day of Dia de Los Muertos.
I appreciate that they teach their children not to fear death.
Thanks for sharing, Shaky. I think the latter is the coolest part. Their philosophy regarding death is kind of nice.
It’s the first time I’ve ever heard ‘Dia de Los Muertos’..:)
We don’t officially celebrate Halloween here, but many young people make Halloween costumes and celebrate them in their own neighborhood. There are also cafes and music clubs that celebrate Halloween.
Hi, Murn! 🤗
Dia de Los Muertos is a big thing in Mexican culture. Check out the Wikipedia link. 🙂
Hey Josh,
I know I can always Google but I would prefer to know it from you 😉
Hahaha…Others have done a much better job explaining it than I ever could.
So nice to see you, btw! Yay!
Haha
So is it the same creepy stuffs ?
It’s so Nice to see you too.
https://youtu.be/ek1ePFp-nBI
I saw that film! It was decent. 🙂
I love the original from way back…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHuOtLTQ_1I
I watched that one too.
Creepy and I mostly closed my eyes but I still watched it till the end…:))
Unlike the Japanese horror like the Rings, people said the Halloween movies aren’t that horror.
I liked The Ring. It was creepy, although the original from Asia with subtitles would have been better. 😉
It’s been quite awhile so I am sure you can get the full movie online easy now.
Another one is The Grudge.
IMO, Japanese makes horror movies better than most others.
I only watched the original Japanese version as after that Hollywood made one with the same title.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYyPTyXlT9w
Yeah! Ju-On, that’s right. I’m stupid tonight.
Haha…no you are not.
I think that’s the second scariest after the Rings.
Don’t imagine a ghost came out from your blanket as it is nearly your bed time there….=DD
😂😂😂
I think I’m going to watch something online about real life horror…a pedophile/serial killer active during the 1970s in midwestern USA. Scary as hell.
I want to know how the FBI or police captured this terrible person.
That sounds really scary.
I haven’t heard about it here.
I watch all types of stories about real life crime. The worse the crime the more sensational the documentary or docudrama becomes.
I will like the real crime movies better too but the less bloodshed ones..:))
I like the types that involve the FBI that I can learn from. I’ve always wanted to understand why the psychos out there do what they do.
Because those are men movies.
I used to watch some crime series on TV but not anymore lately.
Hahaha…you know me. I like horror, action, war, documentary and science fiction genres. Crime yarns can also be very entertaining.
Not so much horror for me, but I watched war, documentary and some Sci-fi.
I actually wanted to post Schindler’s List but I am not sure about it.
What do you think?
It’s an awesome film, but we’ll have to watch the comments very closely.
Yes, and what I like the most is actually Schindler as a person who saved lives.
Precisely. 😀
Hey, you have a restful night.
Make it no vampire for tonight…=D
I have errands to run and I’ll come back later.

Awesome gif! Thank you for your understanding. I’m helping a friend in the AM.
https://media.giphy.com/media/E9RRvkt19OczS/giphy.gif
It’s consuming & yet fascinating…
It really is, Lily. 🙂
How are you this evening, darling?
My buddy !! Crime is my passion.(as in doc’s & film, and reading ) I took full advantage of the turn back the clock. I did a Media Science gig downtown on Saturday afternoon. I never saw 4 weddings & a funeral (England version ) . Needless to say, I pulled a good all nighter And slept all Sunday day. Read some of the NY times paper & did some home Depot browsing earlier this evening. I had some beef enchiladas (well I pick at ’em ) but I’m craving the chicken mole’ sauced enchiladas, in which I will eventually whip up myself. Have u watched anything good (aside from the freight train killer documentary )?? Hugzz !
Good Morning, Lily!
I screwed up my days and nights a bit here last night. LOL!
Sounds like a good weekend!
I watched this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e76cKma7ZA4&t=3690s
Oh my. I watch the Justice station alot. Cold cases, forensics , and mystery unsolved.
I’m being knocked out over here by medication. Hugzzz.
Oh yeah !! I’m getting there. Had a large cup of tea B4 midnight. I was watching nypd blue.
Yup. The nap is upon me. Peace out, dear Lily.
Okee dokey . I just drank some milk. Very soothing. Zzz get some sleepy 😴 !!
Peace.
Well , in lieu of passion of crime docs n all; there was an interesting bit on Dr . Oz’s “crime Tuesday’s ” episode today. Going Back to the Natalie Wood drowning, 1981. Sorta heard bits & pieces back then (i was teenager & didn’t follow news). Wow , Christopher Walken was on that boat/yacht. Kinda weird, I definitely recall All the details of the Helter Skelter at the tender age of 7/8 as my childhood friend’s much older creepy brother would torture us with the bloody details. I loved Sharon Tate in Valley of the Dolls. She was married to Roman Polaski.
Quite the circle regarding crime, considering Polanski turned up a kiddie creeper then fled prosecution.
I wiki’d him and the incident tookplace in ’77 ; yrs after the Tate ’69 murder. It was the Helter Skelter book w/the gory pictures & then movie we were scared of because it was still fresh. Bathroom sink vanity cabinets bothered me for yrs. (where they found Manson hiding with his hair sticking out) . Patty Hearst kidnapping was frightening too .
I only saw the movie Helter Skelter, not the book.
The retake of the movie was lame.
I was always fascinated by the work Vincent Bugliosi did on the case, though.
I know very little to nothing about the Patty Hearst kidnapping.
Whaatttt ? Patty Hearst, as in Randolph Hearst’s great granddaughter..
Right. I know about the family’s importance, particularly when it came to journalism.
Very well then.
I’m watching a television movie from 2017, Freight Train: Slayer of Innocence.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7222214/
I watched it bit just now.
There must be something interesting for the kids to go with him
Which one ? Did you follow the Dahmer case ?
In fact, I am very much up to speed on Dahmer. I’ve watched tons of footage. I’ve even seen My Friend Jeffrey Dahmer (2017).
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2291540/
Have you seen that movie?
At times it’s funny, at other times very creepy, and also disturbing and sad.
This is what I actually viewed last night:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7222214/
I just replied to the above-mentioned a second ago. I downloaded that movie APp last night. JD hung out at joint called Carol’s speakeasy which was on Wells street way back in the day. I worked on Wells street during the riff Raff years . My coworker used to “strowl” there on his lunch hour , hmmm.
Aren’t you glad to be female now? LOL!
Thank goodness your coworker didn’t become lunch!
I hope you like the movie.
The Laotian boy was sad…
Anyway, the co-worker “don” would step out and his boyfriend Bobo would call looking for him. Bobo would cut my hair for free at the hair hopper salon to get information on Don’s shenanigans. 😱
LMAO!!!
If you like horror movies, you have to watch the RINGS.
Is that a series based on The Ring?
It’s more a sequel.
I am not fan for horror movies but as a movie lover, i had to watch it just to know what it was. It’s very creepy
There was a scene where you were sitting on your sofa, watching TV and suddenly demon came out from your TV screen and haunt you…=D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uukQ_6szDm8
I may have already seen it but don’t quite remember. LOL!
LOL……
it isn’t my favorite genre movies.
I would prefer the true stories or biography or drama movies.
I like them all, but have a preference for craziness I suppose. 🤪
I recall you liked something like the Inglourious Basterds…=D
I watched this kind of movie too but it was because of the leading actors.
I like something like the LAWLESS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXq2xzSzphE
I loved Inglorious Basterds! It was great!
I’ve never seen Lawless. Looks interesting. Looks very interesting. 😉
I really like Brad’s acting in Inglorious Basterds that made me got the original dvd for collection.
Lawless is very good. it’s from a true story.
I’d recommend it to you.
Thanks, Murn! I will have to look for it online. =D
Sadly, I have to eat and go to sleep so I’m off to watch this while I chow down and then I’m off to dreamland.
Thanks for the chat. I’m always happy to discuss movies!
Have a wonderful day and big hugzzz! 🤗🤗🤗
I like them all, but have a preference for craziness I suppose. 🤪
I did not celebrate it. I bought tongs made of a good plastic material at a discount that looked like skeleton arms with bony fingers. Useful and I thought cool looking.
I imagine that and it seems to be good for Halloween.
Morning, tai..:))
have a great morning.
taking it easy here. really lazy.
I knitted a hat and talked to my cat and brushed my teeth and did an exercise walk. I think I must start lying, if I brag of other accomplisnments. I took out a small bag of garbage, yeah, my other accomplishment. ha ha.
We laid my Gramma to rest on All Souls Day she was 101 1/2…….Old School she never even drove a car.
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/c3ff1dce2c43049dae370d0dfccb05b49f74d712a57c07374edb55d876de123e.jpg
101 1/2, such a long live.
My mother died at 84.
RIP your Gramma.
Thank You Murn God bless You
I am so very sorry for your loss.
Thank You NN
it’s a celebration of Samhain….the end of the Celtic year…where the veil of this world and the other world grows thin…and passing can occur….the wearing of frightful guises were thought to repel any evil sprits walking the world…as was the bon fire….personally I would think it would make them feel more at home…xD
10/31 Halloween it snowed and sleeted a bit. Never got into the adult costume parties nor the hype. I like watching Roseanne Halloween episodes and Scary Movie 1 & 2. 🙂
We never celebrate Halloween in my country but it sounds like a lot of fun!
I hardly celebrate man-made Holidays nowadays, so nope. 😊
But I hope everyone who did had fun.

Does buying discounted candy and costumes on November 1st count? 😈
Oh, for sure!
I was in a town in Mexico 40 years ago for dia de los Muertos.
It was surreal and far beyond scary enough for a lifetime. .
I don’t do Halloween now. Just turn out all the lights and watch Christmas movies.
Luchadores are probably not your thing either.
https://lastwordonprowrestling.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/15/2018/08/FB_IMG_1524239856635-e1533834644337.jpg
Excellent !! ⛄☄️
Christmas movie sounds perfect.
I would definitely choose Christmas movie rather than horror.
Neither. I celebrate just waking up alive this morning! 😁
Right on!✊
Recommended.
Did not celebrate it per se, but my daughters like dressing up and were happy to sit out the front for a couple of hours doling out chockies, lollies and glow sticks to kids who showed up.
Ed and I watched TV. lol
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/6c8c13695669b9d8f0be4ab72c05cbea22e2c7728ea6fad5757b20955f717887.png
Since my kids are grown I don’t really do anything for Halloween anymore. I also live down a mile long road so rarely kids come for candy. When my grandchildren get a little bigger where they can enjoy it then I’ll start celebrating it more.
I worked a 12 hour shift and made plans to get take out fried chicken from a great chicken shack on the way home and watching Blood Diner with my wife. But a local wind storm knocked out power so I ate leftovers and an adult cookie. Watched the lights flicker off and on. I live in the boonies so nobody comes for candy.
Me too..Cheaper for us I suppose, don’t have to worry about buying a lot of candy this time of year. I only buy a small bag, (something I like mostly) just to have just in case.
Power going out sucks, especially when coming home from a tiring day.
Ooooo…..then you might have had these that night….https://youtu.be/GC2x8dwvi4M?t=2
I made dentists happy

I love this season for the horror films. LOL!
I stayed home and watched one called Annabelle Comes Home (2019).
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8350360/
I was disappointed. I do not recommend it.
Scary Movie is my favorite & super scary -hehehe !!! 😱
Believe it or not, I never saw it.
The Wayan tribe is in it. Some good oneliners and corny , funny scary. This doofus character is hysterical. I need to add it to my “library” haha! 🤗🤗
🤗🤗
The Wayans are hilarious. I’ll have to check it out someday.
Really it’s 3am. Lol
Hahaha. I was asleep!
Remember the Q101 “electric playground Saturday night mixes?
Looks like another something good I didn’t know about. I stopped listening to commercial radio long ago.
It was nocturnal groove music.. these days I still listen to 102.7 wbmx since the 80’s. Or the Loyola station. Wgci went downhill.
I haven’t really listened to the radio in ages. The other day I was driving a friend’s car and I forget what station she listens to, but I am not going to start listening to the radio again.

Happy November.
