Happy Father’s Day 2020!
For this year, I thought we could do something a little different and answer the question in the gif below:
Happy Father’s Day 2020!
For this year, I thought we could do something a little different and answer the question in the gif below:
I salute all the responsible fathers out there. Especially the ones who also understand how to be a good husband. Because these things are being challenged by pop culture today.
It takes a real man to be a father who puts his family 1st. A real man knows his hobbies, food, and drinks once duties are handled. A real man supports his community and country as well.
Most of all, a real man wants his children to be better than he was.
It’s tough thinking about something weird about my Dad. So I’ll have to say his son.
There are several surprising things about my Dad. This may be testament to the inclusivity of the wonderful city of Houston, Texas, but growing up as a depression baby raised by Roosevelt democrats, by 1949 my father had become a natural liberal. He held no prejudices against any races or sexual orientations at any time in his life.
As music major at NTU, Dad wanted to become a recording engineer in Hollywood. He had been the engineer for several recordings of the university orchestra preserved to this day in vinyl. (Very hard and brittle in those days.) He bought one of the first reel-to-reel recorders made by Magnavox at some incredible cost he probably could not well afford. Dad finished his music degree and began to study physics as a grad student. He was able to successfully get his PhD in space physics without going back and doing the undergraduate coursework.
He was lucky enough to be a grad student at Iowa State University in 1955 where he was quickly asked to work for Jerry Van Allen. This afforded him the opportunity to help to build and launch rockets and weather balloons from aboard ships off the coast of Alaska with instruments that were capable of measuring magnetic flux from the Aurora Borealis and sending that information back to Earth. As the astronomy enthusiasts already know, Van Allen’s team discovered the Van Allen Radiation Belts in 1957.
Happily this association drew the attention of Roger Revelle and Harold Urey in the very early 1960s who were in the process of building the fledgling University of California San Diego. The titans of science were looking for the best and the brightest from across the nation. This is only the beginning of the story. Today, Dad is one of the last founding members of the University still standing. With the death of Walter Munk last year, remaining members of this club are very few indeed.
Happy Father’s day to all the fathers here
Happy Father’s day to all the men handling their business and also to all the women handling both roles.
Arnell!! How have you been?! Haven’t seen you in a long time!

JaeJae…it’s you! Howdy do partner?! How’s everything going in these Plan-demic times?
Yes it’s me. Hey there my sweet friend! 👋🏼 Everything’s Good here and you? I’ve missed chatting with you. How have you been Arnell?
Hahaha…I share your theory. Of course people will say it another conspiracy theory but think about it…who’s getting hit hardest? That’s all I can say about it without being banned. 😁
It’s always good to hear from you and I’m glad you still in one sizzling piece. And yep, I’ve been doing good. Got my toilet paper and paper towels so all is well😅. Seriously tho, I’ll be glad when all of this is over. If it ain’t one thing it’s another.
And about that theory, hah, hah, hah…😏 yeah saying less would be best here. Switching topics, I wish this site was popping like it use to be, it’s good to see you’re still around tho.
Hahaha…Always sizzling, even in winter ☺️😉
I like it because it’s friendly. Popping? Well we have to consider all the people…like you…that left! Then there are those that couldn’t find sites after disqus closed the channels and gave up and went some where else to chat. So, my friend, try showing up more often and others will follow.😌😉 Nice seeing you here again. Stay safe my friend.
Me…left? Lmao…I’m always here, I just hardly ever comment. When Mods invite me, I acknowledge their invites by hitting the recommend and or like button. You know me and the shadows are best friends but I suppose I can stick my head out a but more often.

LOLOL! The Fiend! Beware the mandible claw!
Hahaha! Facts!
🗣Yowie Wowie
Exactly, lolol!!!
I never met my Dad (I’ll leave it at that), but it’s probably just as well.
I’m sure he’d be disappointed in a son who spends his time on a chat site pretending to be a pirate. 😉

I’d be able to celebrate Fathers’ Day if my dad were still living. I don’t celebrate it because he’s deceased and I have no children.
My father’s been gone for nearly two decades, and I’ve come to realize that damn near everything about him was weird. But just to start with: He was one of the smartest people I’ve ever known (and I knew Isaac Asimov), but outside of his work as a lawyer, he never read any books unless they were about chess.

I apologize. You are more than welcome to come back if you’d like.
My father likes his coffee to be similar mud, he likes his running shoes very tight, on rare occasion his hair would stick up and we’d make fun by calling him Woody Woodpecker.
Hope he’s having a nice Father’s Day 💐 🌻 regardless of condition ….
Thank you!
Meww !! Are you feeling better ?? Neighhhh ?
Oh, why yes. IBS only lasts for several hours then things go back to normal. Thanks for asking.
Are you alright?
Check your text messages…mew!!!
Sounds like a gentleman
LOL! Hi, friend! IDK I’d say gentleman, but he’s my dad. 😉
How are you?
Haha surely you know him better :D.
I am doing well in this socially distant life :D. How are you doing?
LOL. I am doing alright. Some twists and turns in life but that’s how it always goes. 😉
O yes, never a smooth drive it is. Hope you enjoy it anyways 😉
Thanks 🙂 my daughter married a fellow that is a computer engineer at Idaho National Laboratory, and is the oldest. My son graduated from Oregon State University, and holds several degrees and is working on his Masters. My dad retired from the sheriff’s office 25 years ago, and put 33 years into law enforcement. This afternoon, we’re going shooting. He’s never shot an AR platform, and I just so happen to have a buttload of them and a few thousand extra rounds…. so i’m gonna show him what to do and let him run whatever he wants. He was a shooter for the marines in the 60’s. I built a Mk12 Mod 1 that he REALLY likes. I might give it to him
Nice successful family !! Happy Father’s Day !! Enjoy !
Have fun today!
Thanks! there’s a possibility that will get some more Monsoon rains, but still should be fun 🙂
I hope y’all stay dry.
He’s Soo neaigghhhtt! 🐴

My father is a blessed memory,
May he rest in peace.
I honestly can’t remember the weirdest thing except the time mom (who was very candid) was explaining the birds and the bees to us using her and dad as the subjects. You should have seen the look on dad’s face! It went from this…

I would like listening to that story 😀
I’ll tell you about it one day…lol
Hello Nwz…how are you my dear friend.
Haha sure I’ll remember 😀
Hey Jae, I am doing good, same work from home routine going on. How have you been?
Hahaha…you have a good memory, I’m sure you will remember.
Happy to hear you’re doing good and staying healthy….stay that way my friend. I’ve been good overall. Some good days…some bad, can’t complain.😁
Haha yes will ask from you there
Oh seems like Jae having some ups and downs, nullifying each others’ impact :D. Take care dear.
No they are canceling each other out…lol…I have more good days than bad…😑
Thank you Nwz, I will do my best to take care…you to my dear friend.
Haha then that’s great, being happy more than being sad 😉
My pleasure and thank you too dear.
