“What can kindness do for you? Give you a warm glow perhaps, or a feeling of well-being? While that may be true, scientists and academics at a new research centre say it can do much more – it can extend your life.
The staff at UCLA’s Bedari Kindness institute are ready for the jokes.
“We look at the scientific point of view. We aren’t sitting around in circles, holding hands. We’re talking about the psychology, the biology, of positive social interactions,” says Daniel Fessler, the institute’s inaugural director.”
Or rather out live them.

You shoud coduct your interactions with the objective that it will make people smile when they see you
I hate to be a pessimist, or cynic, or whatever you want to refer to me from this comment that I’m posting right this minute, but it’s my sad duty to tell you all that, IMHO, it’s going to take a whole lot more than simply “human kindness” and “compassion” to solve all the current problems that are flourishing in our nation and in the whole wide world. As a matter of fact, and I sincerely hope and pray that I’m wrong about this, but some great philosopher made up this old axiom: “You can achieve a lot more with a kind word AND a 2X4 than with just a kind word”. Now, maybe I’m just being silly in saying all this, but it’s the only thing that I could think of to say on here, so sue me, okie-dokie?
lol, ok but ya gotta say it from the road, kidding mostly.
HA-HA-HA!
i have a degree on that
“killing with kindness”

•“Love and kindness are never wasted. …
•“What wisdom can you find that is greater than kindness?” – …
•“You can accomplish by kindness what you cannot by force.” – …
•“Kindness can become its own motive. …
•“Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people.
I so agree with all those words.
When we are kind, we get treated in kind and if not, we don’t need to be unkind.
Love Tim McGraw too.

There are many Mike on here already.
I would take ‘Fire’, it seems like the only one on Disqus…:))
Then please remove ‘miss’ for me.
Happy Thanksgiving, Fire.
Have a great time celebrating it with your loved ones.

I love the warm feeling I get when someone attacks me for being kind.
No good deed goes unpunished.
Kindness is cool. To me it means being civil, tempered, and conscientious of the feelings of others. And sure, it makes me feel good.
I learned to be consistently kind mostly through experience. I’ve been on the receiving end of insulting behavior and have seen it meted out against others. I don’t want to do that to anybody. On rare occasion that I wasn’t, I felt bad.
Even in tough love moments, I don’t insult, but I don’t mince the truth either. Things are better if we try to get along and be nice to one another. It’s not that hard to be kind.
The fact that so many people aren’t kind says a lot about human nature. This is something that must be taught, trained, and continuously reinforced.
No surprises here. Just as klutzes five feet tall aren’t likely to be happy if their life’s goal is to play professional basketball, most of us are moral beings who are going to be happy when we are treating others morally. It’s about living consistent with our own natures.
Though I haven’t been able to find it since, the first time I ever heard psychologist Jordan Peterson speak, he said that the vast majority of psychological problems are actually moral problems, and must be treated as such. While succumbing to temptation is usually a lot of fun briefly, we pay for it in the form of guilty consciences and being ashamed of our own actions. Thus the old proverb: sin in haste, repent in leisure.
This is why Christianity was around long before psychology, and no doubt will be around a long time after this quackery is put on history’s ash heap of bad ideas.
