“The story of Marisa Ventura (Jennifer Lopez), a single mother born and bred in the boroughs of New York City, who works as a maid in a first-class Manhattan hotel. By a twist of fate and mistaken identity, Marisa meets Christopher Marshall (Ralph Fiennes), heir to a political dynasty, who believes that she is a guest at the hotel. Fate steps in and throws the pair together for a magical night of romance. When Marisa’s true identity is revealed, the two find that they are worlds apart.”

What do you like about this movie?
or are there things you don’t like about this movie?
Let’s talk about it.
i watched some of this, and thought it was a sweet movie.
if i can make a few movie suggestions, here are some old movies that are on you tube,[everyone should be able to access them] and they are very good and enjoyable [for their age.
first is a couple of movies starring an actor called arther askey. he was a wartime actor, [an american version of bob hope, mixed with lou costello.] a funny comedian. the wartime references aside, these are funny movies that i enjoyed very much. the first is “ghost train”, a semi suspenseful mystery movie, that is fast paced, and funny.. and the second is called “back room boy” which is about a man who gets stationed on an extremely remote lighthouse, away “from all women” after a heart break. as well as the first, it is a comedy/mystery. askey has fast dialouge,, and very much slapstick comedy. they have a great cast..give them a try, and let me know what you think..
awwww, seems sweet
Hey there, Siso.

This film and several like it (Pretty Woman, Coming to America, Crazy Rich Asians, etc.) are all excellent re-takes of the Classic folk tale, Cinderella.
Personally, I like them all!
True, light story, no heavy suspense
Predictable ending that doesn’t require twist to lead to the end..:))
Yes, it’s those predictable endings that give all the warm and fuzzies. lol
Easy, no need for any tension..:))
Sorry, never saw it. I did recommend…
It’s a fun movie.
Comedy romantic, modern Cinderella..:)
people really misunderstand the metaphors inherent in cinderella, at least the grimm tale, that is quite different, and may even be censored in modern english translations.
just like with snow white.
the real meaning gets lost. and just as with austen novels the meaning is lost/missed 🙁
True, her own conflict between raising his son on her own, abusive husband and a mom who discourage her to dream for a better life, is more than what people in common call it as a Modern Cinderella.
they do, and in some ways that works .
why dont you tell us the original facts so we know them. im curious
why not read the original?!
the sanitized original is different than the european story. much like pinochio, where in the original, the boy is actually turned into a donkey, and slaughtered and Eaten!.[a true cautionary tale] i have read the original, but do not remember. so if you know the original mr. scpadoinkle, or know where it can be found online,, could you tell us?
that is true. german wiki gives a much better account than english wiki, maybe copy/paste use translate?
i did find it online once i think, years ago. bit busy now, try to remember to look/explain later.
you might want to remind me.
but who is going to remind me?lol
🙂
It was panned stateside. Idk, surprise, not really my thing.
😀
I know…
You must like action, superhero, war or even horror ?…=D
Not really… Idk how to explain it. One of my favorites…

Something classic…
Dang, I think I’m getting old. I never think of it that way.
=DD
It does look classic, Jay.
But liking classic movie doesn’t always mean that you are old.
Many young people like classic movies with their own reasons, nothing is wrong about it.
I still watch classic movie lately too.
That’s good, because most of the movies I like are getting older with me.
😀
Haha…of course there are, Jay.
They grow and get old with us …=D
For music, I’m stuck I’m the 90s. For movies it seems to be closer to the 70s.
😀
That’s a big different.
I watch old movie sometimes but I watch new movies more often.
For music, I like all genre and all year but I follow the music trend and as long they have nice melody and good lyrics, I don’t mind about who sings or who compose them. My playlists are variety from Pop, new age, classic, R&B, Jazz, Lounge, Alternative Rock, Celtic/Epic etc…ALL genre from various years…:))
I do-do that with music, but newer movies seem like remakes of stuff I’ve seen before. It’s the one area I’m absolutely a curmudgeon about.
The superhero movies are mostly remakes but many others are newly made.
=D……quite understandable though.
Let’s call them accidental remakes. Kinda like…
https://youtu.be/8QedmXwlJak
😀😁
*Laughing
I really don’t watch that kind of movie….=D
I tried to make sure it was clean. I kinda assumed as much. I’m a bit goofy.
😀😁
=D
I better give you this.
😁😀😜
Hahaha…. I’ll be off shortly.
Thank you for the great companion, Jay.
You have a purrrrfect day….=D
Have a great night. Sleep easy, you picked great mods.
😁
Hey Jay!
Howdy Jae! How’s it going?
Hey Jae,

I just fried sweet potato, do you want it?
https://img.huffingtonpost.com/asset/5c3350082600003e0584ff41.jpeg?ops=1200_630
Those things have become very popular around Texas I noticed.
Haven’t tried them just yet..😁
Sweet potato cooked in pressure cooker for a few minutes is very tasty and sweet! Fries are good too.

Rich in fiber, it is also a source of iron, vitamin C and potassium, and is high in vitamin E, contains vitamin A and C. Sweet Potato is Rich in Antioxidant.
what is that?
Tamales😊
They’re an integral part of local everyday fare in Texas.
https://media1.giphy.com/media/1162tEY0PxUYSc/giphy.gif
ah. if i could , i would.
It’s a very long process.
Takes all day to make the stuffing.
Then there’s assembling them, then steaming them…
wow
They’re really delicious. They can be added to many other dishes after they’re cooked or eaten by themselves.
Eggs, soups, meatloafs, etc….
Looks like pancake…
Yummy! Looks very good and tasty!
My eyes say: “Scrumptious!”… My head says: “Yummy!”… but my type-2 diabetes says: “No! No! No!” :p
Yes, food should serve health, not the other way around.
Also, commented on this page, sweet potato is very easy to find here in Brazil, and also easy to prepare.
“Because it is high in fiber, it is considered a medium-glycemic index food, meaning it gradually increases blood glucose. This way the carbohydrates are digested more slowly, supplying energy to the body gradually, avoiding spikes in insulin production. This helps in weight loss since these insulin spikes stimulate the body to store localized fat. ”
