As a Christian, I believe in heaven, although the Bible really doesn’t tell us much about it. This I long for,
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
I’m ready for the old order to go away….

When I die, I wanna go to hell because all my friends will be there. 😲
I don’t believe in heaven. I think that there is an afterlife, but I think that it will be different than most people think that it will be.

To see a world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wild flower Hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour.
– William Blake
One day you will ask me which is more important? My life or yours? I will say mine and you will walk away not knowing that you are my life.
– Khalil Gibran
Tender words we spoke to one another are sealed in the secret vaults of heaven. One day like rain, they will fall to earth and grow green all over the world.
– Rumi
Hi Murn, thank you for posting this. I was at my grandmother’s funeral today, it was a Muslim funeral ceremony which meant a lot of singing and praying.
It reminded me that sometimes, I wish I could be religious too. It must be comforting to have that assurance, as well as the sense of community you can get. Not everyone can choose what they believe in, unfortunately, and I’ve never been able to convince myself of certain things. But it’s nice to see how much joy religion can bring to others.
Hi Roach,
That sounds like Sufi?
Religion, to me is a personal matter for each of us with God, in life as long as we are good with others, respecting each other, mutual tolerance, I’m sure we can all create a peaceful life like heaven.
It was Shia, which is why we had to travel a long distance to reach the mosque – I believe the main one in London is only for Sunni Islam.
Yes I agree. Theism can help with finding a purpose and direction in life even when it seems there isn’t any. But with or without a god, we can still live our lives being kind to others and enjoying the time we have.
I have not seen Shia’s funeral process. The dancing during the process sounds very difference.
It’s good that you went to join to know that 🙂
I am very sorry for your loss, Roach. Best wishes!
Thanks mate! Have a good one.
I’m looking forward to going to Heaven. I hope to see my grand parents there. I’m also waiting for the rapture to vome, and take me there with the other Christians. I have some pets I lost too. Maybe I will see them.
Amen,
We have the same hope here Lisa.
Looking forward to meet our loved ones who left us first.

I dearly love the idea of Heaven. A place where one can truly be at ease and contentment. With infinite renewal of pleasure, love, and being. And, justice.
I wish this most for those who suffered the most. Who knew mostly trial and tribulation. Because, say what you want, some evil people get away with it, while some innocents never requite themselves in this life.
I’ve lived so that even if I die tomorrow, I’m content. I fought the good fight. I continue to fight. I’ll go out fighting,
But I fought for Heaven somewhere. Here’s hoping to see some of you there. If they let me in! I’ll be the meanest bastard on the block.
😉
=DD
That is the idea of heaven what I’ve been having in my mind too.
A beautiful place with everything we want and need.
Green garden with clear river flowing, all fruits, all foods and all the ones we love. We really have everything.
I hope to see what the meanest ….. will do there.=D
I have some ideas on how to keep busy once they let me in. Aside from eating and frolicking, I’d like to rebel every now and then. To keep them on their toes.
But not so much that I get cast down from Heaven and be called The Devil. I’ll wait for a real Devil to take the bait and get thrown out.
Then I can commence with being a Dark Knight in the service of the angelic. Because there always will and need to be threats. You need me to fight them.
🥰😤
I am a pessimistic-optimist. I expect and prepare for the worst, and then optimistic when the worst does not occur. If it were to occur, then I am not disappointed or devastated. My everyday philosophy is: 1) Learn at least one new thing, but not in your field. 2) Do at least one good deed that no one knows about. 3) Make someone laugh or smile.
Those are good examples and it’s been my philosophy too that if good things happen, there’s no need to be too happy, and if bad things happen, there’s no need to be too sad. Your philosophy #1 & 2 are inspiring. I try to do those too although I don’t always make it.
Thank you; but in your case. try harder to “make it.” 🙂 After you have succeeded in the quest for your (or our) philosophy, then we can revert to our nasty selves. 🙂 Godspeed.
Thank you for the invite Murn 🙂
My pleasure as always. 🙂
Heaven is wherever the Appaloosas go and people listen to Baxter Black
That cowboy and the beautiful horse race.
Do you know of Baxter Black? I’m impressed
Knowing him a little bit from his poems…
What other things did he do?
He was a horse veterinarian, and a tv commentator for different events. I think he just ranches and cowboys now
I thought he was a movie star, but he was a television commentator.
I did a quick search and found more about him.
He is 75 now..:))
I used the term bvstard in a joking way. I guess that is a banned word?
Did your comment get into pending?
It surprises me if the auto filter doesn’t catch it.
It got caught. But the an Angel of Mercy blessed and passed it.
It’s funny because mine got caught and I just released it from pending.
the auto filter is on your side, it’s unfair…=D

You could find a thousand references to Heaven in Milton’s “Paradise Lost”, that epic in blank verse. Here is just one.
. “The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven..” “What hath night to do with sleep?” “Better to reign in Hell, than to serve in Heaven.”
“Paradise Lost”, interesting.
I like many good quotes about Heaven, they are mostly by Rumi.
Love possesses seven hundred wings, and each one extends from the highest heaven to the lowest earth.
– Rumi
Just the first stanza of a poem by John Donne
The spelling is correct. He was a early 17th century Poet
THE
PROGRESSE
OF THE SOULE.
First Song.
sing of the progresse of a deathlesse soule,
Whom Fate, which God made, but doth not controule,
Plac’d in most shapes; all times before the law
Yoak’d us, and when, and since, in this I sing.
And the great world to his aged evening;
From infant morne, through manly noone I draw.
What the gold Chaldee, or silver Persian saw,
Greeke brasse, or Roman iron, is in this one;
A worke t’outweare Seths pillars, bricke and stone,
And (holy writt excepted) made to yeeld to none.
That how he looked like.

Donne (pronounced Dun not Don) was a great Elizabethan poet, along with Andrew Marvell.
Donne’s most famous
‘No Man is an Island’
No man is an island entire of itself; every man
is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;
if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe
is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as
well as any manner of thy friends or of thine
own were; any man’s death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom
the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.
Olde English Version
No man is an Iland, intire of itselfe; every man
is a peece of the Continent, a part of the maine;
if a Clod bee washed away by the Sea, Europe
is the lesse, as well as if a Promontorie were, as
well as if a Manor of thy friends or of thine
owne were; any mans death diminishes me,
because I am involved in Mankinde;
And therefore never send to know for whom
the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.

Cys, that is a nice song.
I listened to it all.
I have this one. It’s sad but nice to listen to.
https://youtu.be/pFjAXHmjxQk
It’s beautiful Remembering something in my own life brought tears. Back later. Need to be still and remember. I need a moment to feel that spirit, to again touch those silent kisses and close my eyes to see you here with me.
It did remind me of my parents….but I enjoy listening to the song.

Soft at the beginning then surprising beat almost like a desert music.
This is a different beat about heaven.
It has so many viewers.

Let me not
Let me not live without you
…if that shall be my fate
Let me not see the future
…if it is now too late
Let me not be without you
…close my eyes to see
Let me not know the story
…sorrow would it be
Let me not wander alone
…ship without a sale
Let me not be the poet
…one to verse the tale
Let me not close the coffin
…love would then be gone
Let me not live without you
…in death I’ll follow on.

The gif is so beautiful
And the poet too is inspiring…very nice Cys

OMG….
Dogs wait for their masters to go to Heaven
Yes, they wait patiently on the other side for those who loved them. I gave both my dogs communion when they got sick. The Episcopalian church has a blessing of the animals once a year. My only comfort in the death of my Harley and my Tess before her are knowing I’ll see them again. I gota new puppy, as you know and I’ve prayed that Harley would guide her. Occasionally Meli does something so I unmistakenly Harley, I know that Harley comes to visit. I was visited by my aunt after she died. I don’t know what heaven is, but I know we exist behind this life and I know that the dead sometimes speak to us. Even our pets.
I know it’s must be very devastating to lose our pets. I felt the same when my cat disappeared. I am sure your new puppy makes you happy.
About heaven, I believe that the deed we do on this earth determine where to go in the afterlife.
You’ll see your cat again. I believe there is redemption for all who seek it. My aunt was agnostic most of her life. She was a drunk who had a lot of money and blew it all on herself. She lived with my husband, son and myself the last ten years of her life. She was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and opted for no treatment as it was advanced. The ten years she lived with us were tumultuous at best with her drunken antics and deceptive, childish behavior. But in the months between her diagnosis and death we became close and had lots of conversations. She spent that time in my home and I took care of her. I wasn’t ever sure I had convinced her there was something on the other side and that she would be reunited with loved ones. I knew it was her last hours. She hadn’t moved except to breathe for a day. Her eyes were half open but she wasn’t seeing, her arms were stiff by her side. She couldn’t swallow the drops of liquid morphine I dropped in her mouth. That night I put my mouth close to her ear so she could hear me and I began to recite the prayer for the dying. Halfway through she sat straight up her arms flew up in the air, she turned and looked at me for a brief second…I thought she was going to speak to me…then fell back into the same position she was in. After I peeled myself off the ceiling, I finished the prayer. I took that as a sign that she and God had found each other.
She had lived in what would have been our dining room off the kitchen and beside the living room downstairs. We quickly turned the room into a small tv room. My husband went to Cyprus for a few weeks so I was home alone. Every morning at 8:30 I heard something hit the house. I finally figured out it was a bird flying into the window on the living room side of the front porch. It had never happened before in the 12 years we had been in the house. There’s never a reflection on the windows on the front porch so it couldn’t have been seeing it’s reflection. My sister came up to visit me for a week. The bird switched windows and would fly into the window my aunt lived in several times a day while we were watching tv. My sister and I discussed the possibility it could be my aunt and it freaked us out a little. The next day I was washing dishes and looked out into the back yard and saw the bird sitting on the fence. As soon as I saw it, it took off and flew into the window in front of me. That night I spoke to my aunt out loud. I told her I had gotten the message and that she needed to move on. She needed to go and be with her parents and her partner. I never saw that bird again. It’s been 5 years and no birds have flown into the house. I’ve lived here 17 years and that was the only bird ever to fly into the house.
A lot of people will discount this and some will think I’m crazy, but I believe there is an after life and have seen evidence. I lived in a haunted house in Charleston in college so I’ve seen spirits. One used to move furniture when I wasn’t in the room. For a while I thought it was a roommate. It was furniture that was original to the 150 year old house and we would move it where we wanted it only to find it moved back to the same place. I rarely did anything in the kitchen in this house because it was like cooking in the 50’s. But I did one day. The furniture was where I wanted it. I was alone in the house. I spent an hour or so in the kitchen walked into the den and the furniture had moved. The other was a man who used to stand on the balcony on the second floor looking into the bedroom. This bedroom had its own balcony. The only way to get to it was walk through the bedroom or climb up the front of the house, which was next to impossible. I’ve also encountered a malevolent spirit who threw animal figurines across the room in front of me. I didn’t stick around long enough to find out what it wanted. I think it got here through a girl I worked with whose mother was an automatic writer.
I can’t speak to what heaven is, but I know we have life beyond this one. I hope this wasn’t too religious. I saw the rules. I in no way promote my own or discount the religion or lack thereof of any one else. My intent is simply to relate my own experiences.
Your story is interesting although it kind of frightens me. But if you believe that someone who has died can transform into something to convey a message and then understand what you are conveying to it, chances are that bird is your aunt’s incarnation.
We don’t believe in reincarnation, so reading stories like this is interesting, but we would say it is a coincidence.
I understand. I see them more as signs than actual transformations or reincarnation….a temporary state of being.
I was only frightened once when the malevolent spirit confronted me.
The spirits in our house never wanted to harm us. They just wanted us to know they were there.
And thank you for letting me post them.
Of course, I enjoyed reading them.
This is one of the faces I’ll see.

That’s my Harley. She was a funny little dog with loads of personality who loved us fiercely. I miss her so much. I still miss our first dog Tess. Here are drawings Tess and Harley my son did fir me. Tess has a Statue if Liberty hat on. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/ab46d8c1a26df11876e51adfcbb54f51a93952869e3c84640efef329e69e9257.jpg . He did that while in Middle School. The one of Harley he did in high school. She was just a pup. I framed them.. I frame everything because that’s what I did for a living. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/89a302a08618e25ee79b0890df02116d3e4f7b75cc74b56f5c1461a8b36e8b6b.jpg
Wow…. nice drawing.
I can feel your loss. They are beautiful dogs.
And the frames look very nice too, it shows that you make good frames.
Thanks for sharing Robin.
I framed pictures for 40 years, since I was 13 in my dads gallery. It’s easy when you have the tools.
Thanks for letting me.
That is a long years of experience.
Of course, you are very welcome on here.
40 years, not 49…not that old yet…😆
Still a long years of experience.
All creatures have souls
Yes, they do.
This was close to pure Heaven, in my opinion:

We should look for those then..:)
I think so.
