Holiday seasons are coming soon.
What are your ideas for this coming holiday?
What is your favorite places to go?
Which countries have you visited?
Would you share a pic (Only if it’s possible).
Bali where I am from has been the favorite holiday destination for many people from different countries in the world. Bali has beautiful beaches and mountains, it’s naturally beautiful.
The People here are friendly and most of them speak English..:))
To take a long distance holiday, I would usually pick developed countries that are less crowded, cities that are modern but still embrace the culture and keep the tradition that I can learn from. I see Japan has been the best example to me so far. They have great and healthy foods. We see how people are friendly, so polite and helpful when needed and how clean the cities are. And when you buy something at the shops, they wrap your goods very nicely and beautifully, everyone are discipline and patience waiting in the long queue. When we ask for a direction to anyone, they will give us very details explanation with a simple drawing and ask if we understood. This is something I rarely experience in other places.
These are some pictures I took on my trip to Japan in 2017.
Just a city in Kyoto in March, the cherries weren’t blossoming yet
One of my lunch that time
And it’s me at Shinto Shrine, Kyoto.

I’ll spend Thanksgiving with my family. I don’t know what I’ll do for Christmas.
Recommended.
We will be working on Christmas Day this year but, my husband and I are heading to LA and also to Vegas for a couple of weeks from 31st December 2019 through to 14th Jan 2020. Clearly cannot show pics of the up coming trip. lol
Last Christmas though,Ed and I flew from Dubai to Florida and as a meet up, our daughters flew from Brisbane to Florida so we could spend Christmas and New Year, together.
This is the house we stayed in when in Florida over that time.
https://www.globalresorthomes.com/property-details.cfm?whichProp=2023
Loved that house. We had friends ( considered like family to us) from Michigan US come and stay with us and it was a nice time.
Our family don’t “do” Christmas but as they do, we did a token gesture and popped this little tree up. 🙂

Sorry the Orlando Disney castle is between the tree. lol Our daughters are theme park junkies though these are pics too they took while there.
A lot more but just posting a couple.

Nice pics. I once worked at WDW. 😀
They loved it. We got them 9 day passes ( not back to back days) and they had a ball each and every day. What was it like or work there? Were you a character or one of the lovely CSR staff??
Hi, Kizzy! I was a lowly college intern which meant an ordinary job in the theme park but not as a major character.
My specific position was “tour guide” on board the “Jungle Cruise.” Cheesiest job ever. I had to dress as if Indiana Jones and read a script from 1964 in synch with the boat following a track through the exhibit. The company refuses to change the now antiquated script because that was Walt Disney’s favorite attraction.
I’m so glad you and your lovely family had the opportunity to experience Lake Buena Vista for 9 days. There’s so for tourists much to do in the Orlando area. I hope you all had a blast!
You’re kidding.. that was me hitting the outside of the boat while saying “c’mon gator “..
LOLOLOL!!!
How are you doing ? 🙂
I’m alright but stuffed and tired. I just went a bit crazy on American junk food.
How about you?
I’m dopey. Only because I was up at the crack of dawn, from a 2 day bug. Did u have a peek at that one movie. Also, I hear they’re reopening Natalie woods case.
Awww…I hate being sick. I hope you feel better now.
I haven’t watched much of anything lately because I’ve suddenly become very busy. A lot has fallen into my lap this week. Maybe I’ll catch it after the weekend but think I’m moving soon and need to get organized for that ASAP. Crazy!!!
Ok. Wow. My hair is standing up thinking about it (if pressed to move) All my stuff , err.
Yeah. I’m helping a friend move and then it will be my turn to relocate. Ugh.
Speaking of which, I have to get back on normal daytime hours. I have to go to bed like I’m elderly or something. I will have to bid you a fond adieu for now.
I hope it’s for the better 😉
LOL. So do I. It certainly appears that way.
Hugzz !😴
Hugzzz back! 😴
Hi , it’s me. Did u check out the mega Starbucks yet ??
I haven’t gotten around to it, Lily. I’ve been very busy. Have you gone over there?
Did You ?!! 🐊
Sure did.
Very nice and beautiful pictures.
Thank you for sharing, Kiz.
Oooo awww !!! 🥂
Hopefully Ed 🏑 can do a round of golf too !!
😀 We will be staying at the MGM Grand and a lovely lady there is sorting out bibs and bobs for us from a distance. 🙂 She’s been great so far.
How are you doing Lilymason2?? 😀
⛄ 🙂
Nothing special here. I just go with my mom wherever she’s going. I think my cousins are hosting Thanksgiving this year.
We are visiting in-laws for thanksgiving. I’m doing the main cooking for 20 people. The turkey will be 25 pounds.
My favorite activity. Nothing beats great food, drink, family, and friends. That’s my favorite way to celebrate holidays.
Simplicity.
Murn, I went to Japan twice in 1988. Yes, I remember the same as you describe.
1st time to meet my Fiancé’s family.
Second time ,…we got married in Japan, and in California to make everyone happy.
I remember thinking, and daydreaming about how my liofe would turn out like.
I think I was supposed to be president, or a billionaire by now LOL
That was for your Miss Japan’s runner up…:))
LOL… You’ll get there soon as you are focusing on it now.
I go to my mom’s for thanksgiving & Christmas dinner.
I hope both of you will have a wonderful time celebrating it together.

i like to go to my rural home 40 minutes away on holidays such as thanksgiving & christmas i really really like it there since its a beautiful quiet place im on the roof on that photo the trailer house belongs to my father and im on the roof of a small house he built for me

Sounds nice, Katie.
Take care.

My idea of a long distance holiday is calling my sister in Ohio long distance.
A long distance call…=D
Staycation….is the BEST way to celebrate the Holiday season. I went to the mall yesterday and was FLOORED by the beauty of Christmas Everywhere already. I thought they would wait till December….yet I’m overjoyed it’s already there.
What a beautiful way to celebrate the Birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ in our life and hopefully….in our HEARTS than to see it manifested everywhere: shopping malls, streets, churches, houses, foyers and lobbies, offices, corporations, companies, lightings esp. at night…….
Ideally, a trip to the Holy Land would be the BEST choice, but many of us cannot afford it at least not right now. But I highly recommend that we go and visit the source of our joy, love, compassion to each other.

That sounds great.
Happy holiday?
To: Xmas; Thanksgiving and New Year to all my digital friends! 🎈🎄🎉✨🎆
Many celebration in quite a short time.
Cyber hugs..:))
(((Murn))) 🤗
We usually have a family gathering around Christmas time at home. But before Christmas we do plan to go down the beach on our South Coast for a week. Looking forward to that.
The Gift
The silent shades of twilight close the day,
At eventide, when daylight hides away.
And vibrant stars, illuminates the night,
Adorn so bright, celestial’s darkened side.
Two thousand years, one night in history.
A sacred star, a sign the world would see.
Revealed a gift, a gift of endless Grace,
While shepherds heard the angel’s songs of praise.
The greatest Love this world has ever known.
In Bethlehem, from servant to His throne,
Was born the One, the King of Righteousness,
Amidst the angels triumphant songs of bliss.
The Magi came, three wise men from the East.
Led by Your star, to a manger meant for beast.
They humbly bowed to You, a breath-old boy,
And there proclaims the greatness of their joy.
There in a crib, Your earthly mission’s tee
Would zenith on a hill at Calvary
You sacrificed Your life: Amazing Grace
Opened the door to heaven’s sacred space!
God’s sacred gift ignites my heart’s desire.
The smallest spark turns to a scorching fire.
Purging my being and urge my heart to praise
His precious gift of Peace and Love and Grace.
Palapie 2017
That is beautiful, Palapie.
Thank you for posting it on this thread.
I have only heard West and East Coast Beaches so far…:)
South Coast must be beautiful.

Thank you Murn. I’ve noticed you love wisdom quotes from Rumi. Great.
Your most welcome.
I have Rumi’s wisdoms collection..:)
I like Kahlil Gibran too
They were Sufi poets you know. I admire and appreciate your efforts, and I like the responses of your friends. Thanks for the invite. But the last time I told someone how about my life as the last leaf, she cried. I sincerely wish you happy holidays.
Good morning, Ron.
I apologize for taking so long to response.
And thank you for your kind and continues supports for MNC and me on here. It is very much appreciated.
Would you share that with me, please.
I’ll be travelling for 2 weeks from tomorrow and will come back here once I return, so please excuse me if I don’t get back to you until then.
Happy holidays to you too.
Yes, I know they are Sufi and they are great inspirational writers,
I have every book that Kahlil Gibran has ever written. I also have some of Rumi, Tagore and Ramacharaka.
That is wonderful.
I have only read his poems/quotes.
Haven’t got the chance to ever read his books
He is a great writer, very inspiring.
The Broken Wings by Gibran is a must read. So much feeling.
To Whoever deleted them……the videos and comments that contain Christmas Carols and joy in our Lord’s Birth were deleted….yet the proverb that comes from a muslim character Rumi is kept posted and not deleted. Hello???
This is discrimination, hypocrisy, indoctrination and imposing of Islam on us.
In the Spirit of what Our Lord Jesus Christ taught us God bless you!
It wasn’t me and I do agree with you.
I am no fan for discrimination, hypocrisy, indoctrination either.
All restored now.
I am sorry for the deletion without announcing the rules first.
It’s OK Murn. I edited my post. Thank you SO much for restoring justice, love in this channel.
God bless you! 💐🙏🏻🧡
That’s great.
Thank you for being so wise.
God bless you too…..
No one is attempting to convert you to Islam. The Rumi post does not contain religious content.
Our moderation team does not favor any religion whatsoever. We are supposed to strive for objectivity, so as to maintain neutrality.
I apologize if you feel you were being attacked for your beliefs.
We’ll apply the rules from the next thread.
Ttyl.
Hi my dear friends!!! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5395eec42ebfd81ab4a36e2695e5258a1c6b81eb806c12dfd9a241065bd65738.jpg
Good morning, Dear George,
Happy Sunday to you too.
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/100ceaf50330701eb77cc4a2ad0b6a2bad5d43f813841ba728f83bcc0a7355a7.jpg
Georgy !! 😊
Is debating the religiosity of Christmas a neutral thing? Because it seems like it just brings out a sense of alienation in people who are not Christian believers.
Christmas is supposed to be about the birth of Jesus I worship in my own way, it is the worship that means anything to me not a vacation, or some meal, even my bond with other believers has greater import to me than a family dinner.
I don;t mind the notion of neutrality but be honest Christmas itself is not a neutral topic, its a Christian Holiday secularists atheists and others enjoy for other reasons . Happy Holidays.
I may need to emphasize that this is about any holiday, NEW YEAR holiday is what I mostly mean but if Christian Friends would want to say something about Christmas holiday, or if disbeliever friends would say something about thanksgiving holiday maybe, it’s acceptable on here. Neutral means we accept all as long as it doesn’t harm our channel rules.
Happy holiday to you too.
This site is American and the culture and religion of the west is Christianity.
When you visit….say Muslim country, you abide by the law and its religion. You are respectful of their feasts even if you don’t believe in them. And you cannot celebrate Christmas or even see Merry Christmas sign simply bc Muslims do not celebrate it…and yet you have to keep your mouth shut….whether you like it or not.
The reason you respect the law in Muslim countries especially under sharia law is because if you don;t you will get a rude teaching in Islam.
When Arafat became PM of the “Palestinian” territories, Bethlehem had posters of him every where that was not a sharia law thing it was an Arafat thing. Sharia law has caused many Christians to flee persecution in those countries, from physical and spiritual persecution, sometimes forced conversions and over 40,000 Christians were killed for their beliefs in Muslim nations in 2018. Nigeria is not a Muslim majority nation but anti Christian violence is going on in that country now as I write. The numbers of Christians being murdered for their faith in socialist states is only a few thousand more than Muslim nations..In faith and prayer this Christmas I will remember them.
Atheists and socialists have more openly campaigned to stop the celebration of Christ on Christmas than Muslims in the USA.
Note there is a profound difference in asking if you are celebrating Jesus or Jesus the Christ. Muslims believe Jesus ascended from the cross to Heaven, the Islamic State believed their devotion would insure the coming of the 12th Imam and the return of Jesus if not a perfect man the most perfect of among men he will lead the Armies of Allah to defeat all the infidels, kill or enslave them or make them live as slaves. I am thankful this Christmas our great military has defeated the Islamic State and eradicated their Caliph but we must continue to be vigilant.
My belief is no one should be made or be forced to celebrate Christmas as a Christian no one should have the faith that Jesus is the Christ forced on them any more than killing. Christians as happens in the world today should be responded to with the same irrational force and violence. I have been on too many military missions over the Holidays to believe it is the season of peace but one could find moments of peace in remembrance of our faith.
Attempting to exclude Christ from the holiday is silly the secularists would be better served to just make up come liberal Holiday it is not a Christian majority stopping it. . But I can not help but believe that for those not of the faith Christmas as the celebration of a Christian Holiday is more determined by the market than faith. Maybe an all faiths day Christ mas , Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Boxing Day and even Ōmisoka. All rolled onto one? God, Allah Jehovah bless you all! I wonder what sales would look like if the holiday was even more inclusive. And for atheists instead of a magic star that symbolizes defiance of the Theories of Relativity on top of the tree, they could put an image of a black hole. Does that work? I have even thought the greeting for the Holiday should be, “Happy spending!”
And we would be the poorer if the Holiday Seasons were only about spending and gifting.
Excuse me, please. We prefer to leave politics, geopolitics, and religion off our channel.
I shouldn’t be on this channel then because the belief you are neutral is a pathetic fallacy.
in the time I posted my comment and you replied you didn;t have time to read it. And I read over 2,000 word minute with over 80% retention and comprehension. . Thanks. anyways good bye. i am no longer following happy holidays.
It’s wonderful you can read. Start with the community rules please.
Morning, Bro.
I have restored some of the deleted comments that contain no rules violation.
It will only be fair the sanctions are effected AFTER we announced the rules.
Thank you for letting our contributors know the rules once again.
In my house, we have different ideas about the upcoming holidays. My idea of getting ready for the holidays is to stock up so I don’t have to go anywhere near a store from after Thanksgiving until the middle of January.
Mrs. Dunnyveg, OTOH, is busily planning for company. Some of her family is planning on coming out to the ranch between Christmas and New Years.
As for Thanksgiving, we’ll have feral hog smoked up on the barbecue pit if I can trap one. It’s as lean as any turkey.
That hog sounds good. For a lot of us in Bali, if we don’t do turkey we’ll do what’s called babi guling.
Anthony Bourdain declared Bali babi guling as the best pig he had ever eaten.
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/55afd3c76b726fac1eee49527d7db3bf6f30df32c265994a65ea90f4b761ac39.jpg
=DDD
So cute.
I don’t eat them but I often laughed watching those laying on a table at Ibu Oka glass window in Raya Mas.
Roy, it’s the same general idea here, though what your pic shows is roasting rather than smoking, which is excellent too. I hope to get a hog just about that size. The thing I like about feral hogs is they have very little fat on them; they have to get out and find their own dinner.
A feral hog is a domesticated hog that escaped captivity. Since they can be very dangerous to humans, kill a lot of livestock, and do immense amounts of other damage, hunting them doesn’t even require a license.
I would love to hunt feral hogs ….. I am not a hunter as hunting season for deer is only in the winter and I hate cold tree stands in the morning. How many do you usually get in a year ?
I trap pigs. Don’t believe pigs will eat anything? I trap them in a cage and use dried whole corn kernels as the bait. To keep other animals out of this corn, I soak it in diesel fuel. The hogs will eat this corn up, but nothing else will touch it.
Actually hogs like to hang out around live creeks and rivers. Since this is very dry country, and I don’t have any such thing, I only have to trap hogs when I want one.
Are you not worried about the diesel fuel contaminating the meat/pig?
No, it’s standard procedure out here, and it’s never caused problems as far as I know. Another reason a lot of people trap pigs using diesel-soaked corn is that it’s possible for the game wardens to nail people without a hunting license with plain corn since other animals will eat it. Since no other animal will touch this diesel corn, the game wardens can’t touch us.
It is also the case that hogs aren’t strangers to hydrocarbons. Pigs will spend hours rubbing up against telephone poles exuding creosote to keep away vermin.
Actually, hydrocarbons can make excellent fertilizers if used in moderation. Organic gardening regularly makes use of humates, which are nothing more than low-grade coal. Before the early seventies, when oil became so expensive, a number of Arab countries would use petroleum as a fertilizer. So, while diesel will kill vegetation, when small amounts of it do break down, it increases soil fertility.
Thank you for that reply … I learned a few things 🙂
@Dunnyveg….And harming the poor Unsuspecting pig…?
well maybe the person eating the pig
Christian, I suppose you can take that position. The problem is that one sow can have as many as two dozen young every single year. Since no native predators other than humans want to tangle with full grown hogs, we’d be overrun by them if we didn’t cull their numbers. The less said about the environmental damage they cause, the better.
I soak corn in buckets until it sours, then use it , draws hogs like flies….
Good hunting!
Our wild hogs here are called the babi rusa.
I have no idea how tasty they are since they are on the endangered species list.
Nasty looking, eh?
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/e1b89ba8f06b9def9ee0cf82fe2d7c76f225cd4d4a8ec91264a7794d4eb38503.jpg
It’s the first time I’ve ever seen how it looks like.
Nasty looking, eh?
Believe it or not, once in a while those tusks grow in such a manner that they pierce the skull
(and of course kill) the host hog.
I believe that.
I once knew someone told us that their dog died by wild boar with fangs.
So that must be it.
Yep, hogs are ugly, and that’s unfortunate for them. Two kinds of animals are factory farmed, meaning they spend their entire lives in cages: chickens and pigs. Eggs from non-caged chickens, called “free range”, have become common, and I buy them. I’ve even seen chicken itself sold as free range. What I have yet to see is anybody advertising pork that is free range.
Does this not make sense, or is it possible that pigs object to spending life sentences in cages less than chickens do? I have to admit I just don’t get it.
Just be careful skinning wild hogs , they can carry brucelosis. I won’t eat one that hasn’t been purged with grain or hog shorts before slaughter. Damned things are loaded with parasites also. I would never eat one that was killed in the summer unless starving….
Looks brual to roast them like that. At least cut them up so that we cannot see the animal itself. Are you from Indonesia/Indonesian?
It’s necessary to cook them in this manner because the gut cavity is stuffed with an assortment of spices which flavors the meat during roasting.
Of course the pigs are already dead before they are impaled by the bamboo pole…this not being a Vlad the Impaler sort of thing. ;<)
No, I'm an American expat living full time in Bali now for 21+ years. I'm married to a Balinese and we have three sons.
Wow God bless you and your sweet family. Beautiful country. Hope God will use you to be a beacon of light in that country.🍖🍗🐷🐽Enjoy, love HAM sandwich esp. in France. So simple and yum.
Thank you.
Those beasts have seen better days.
All those sound great, except the storm.
No require travelling, stay home for Thanksgiving, gathering with family & friends is the best moment for once a year celebration.
Sound great for what Mrs Dunnyveg is planning to do.
Enjoy, Sir…:))

No holiday shopping.
Do you mean no holiday but shopping only? =D
Holiday shopping.
Ooh…okay
We can enjoy holiday without shopping 🙂
I can. Watching t.v. is irritating though😣
Listening to musics as you have such a wonderful music collection or play music..:)
More coming, after church.
I am sure too.:))
Hi Murn im happy you’re back
Hey MYA,
Miss you Girl.
I am here from now on. Well on and off but I am back…*Smile

Surviving is my first plan. Lol so much in a short period of time….grands birthday, thanksgiving christmas and a third grand on the way.
Hey there,
Happy birthday to your grands.
Yes, those sound many in too short period of time.
No time to work, just celebrating them..:)
Exactly. Lol. But we all will get through. Thank you for birthday wishes.
And Happy Holiday…:))
To you too. I truly hope it is magical. Sometimes we lose thatagic feeling when we have to do adulting
Hawaii is the destination almost every Christmas.

Cool place for someone living in polar place.
Looks like the perfect place for Santa to kick back after a long night of toy slinging.
He’s probably well knackered by the time he hits Hawaii! lol
That is so cool.
I’ll love to visit there someday…:))
And here are the beaches in where I live….BALI
Kuta Beach https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/1de1ae5404ced3d4a443389ee01cf531183e7daea01a660b1ed12487f88e07c6.jpg

And there are still many more beaches here.
Looks great.
Bali is high on my list of places to visit.
A nice hot fire in the fireplace on a cold night.
That sounds great…. and have a cup of hot chocolate, makes it perfect.
Well, in my case it would be a glass of bourbon on the rocks.
God willing, this Thanksgiving and Christmas will be better than the years that are behind, and these celebrations have always been wonderfully special. There is caroling and parties, reunions with friends, and faith services and thinking of ways to make everyone feel loved, and sharing food…and as usual, teaching my Chinese guest the meaning of these holidays beyond the surface sparkles.
To me, these two celebrations are full of history, sacrifice, joy and holiness.
Morning Lady…:))
That sounds really great.
I imagine the happy feeling you have for those moment to come soon.
Yes Murn, Thanksgiving traditions are already in the mix! In my lifetime, music has been a big part of these two holidays.
It is a joy to be friends with Justin and Naomi Rizzo, their music has enriched my life! I hope you will enjoy. 🙂

But most of all it is a time to give love and receive love. The love of memories past unite with present day love and…it overflows from the heart into the lives of so many people. 🙂
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/b11e55fc6036b1b04903fd2a58b3fa3622aec7e4ea744ed86d760b36e8a410b9.jpg
Our minds can step back into the past and revisit loved ones who are gone from our lives…so they really aren’t gone after all. 🙂 Somehow Christmas, more than any other holiday measures the changes in life: going from one time in life to another and another. I suppose it would be accurate to say Christmas is the yardstick by which I can measure the sum total of my life…year by year.

Yes, they are nice..:)
Murn, please remove my name from your tagging lists since my Christmas music was removed from this thread. Thank you.
It was a miss-understanding by our Mods.
I agree with you it’s unfair for deletion without announcing the rules first.
True, and it is impossible to chat about the upcoming holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas without being allowed to discuss the meaning of those holidays; with music associated with the holidays.
I did not know posting traditional Christmas music was against the rules. Thank you for removing me from your tag list.
Since the rules are announced now, everyone knows that posting attribute of any religion is allowed on the topic thread about religion/spirituality only. It is applied to ALL religions not only Christians or Muslims or Jews, it includes Hindus, Buddhists, Confucianists etc. Just remember this rule it is applied to ALL religions and no one is being discriminated on here.
Will do that with pleasure, eassa.
Oh, the usual; a big family gathering and dinner. I’ll consider the “doorbuster” sales and then talk myself out of them. Good times. 😜
You mustn’t be patience to wait for the Black Friday sales?
You just gave me a new word of that ‘doorbuster’
Sound nice Kid…:))
I’ll be at work on Friday (although I have Saturday off…I work Tuesday-to-Saturday, you see). 😎
yes, I see you are a hard worker man.
I have 6 days work too, but I take Saturday off sometimes when I need it, otherwise I like to work half day on Saturday.
Do you work full day on Saturday?
It’s 5 days a week, and yes, usually a full day on Saturday. Without going into detail, let’s just say it’s more monotonous than anything else. But there are good parts, too. The money is very good, and so are my co-workers (except for this one guy, the day he has something interesting to say I’ll eat my spiffy new Batman hat). 😎
Paid vacations are pretty good, but you have to save up during the year, then use most of it before the end of the year. Some kind of stupid company policy about too much banked vacation time, or something. 🤦
I think you’ve told us before of what you did.
Anyway, A full day work on Saturday sound tough..:)
I would always work half day unless there is something super urgent that need to be done.
I make a vacation budget, it’s enough to travel to places we can afford..:))
I never travel; I’m what you might call a homebody. If it’s more than 30 minutes away by car, forget it. 😜
A homebody.
Another new term I get today.
Never been to anywhere at all? I don’t believe you =D
They don’t call Connecticut “The Land of Steady Habits” for nothing, y’know. 😜
But I have seen a few disparate parts of this great nation. Virginia Beach, San Jose, San Antonio. I went to work at Yellowstone National Park for one summer; that was kind of cool. But these days, I like to stay close to home. 😁
Connecticut means “beside the long, tidal river”.
But what is this “The Land of Steady Habits” for?
Sounds like you’ve been to too many places and now it’s time to stay closer to your home.
Not that many places, really. And the nickname has been around for a while. As with most things, it really depends on your point of view. But I love this place, and I’ll probably never leave. But one of these days I’ll have to make the inevitable tourist trek to Los Angeles, and maybe Las Vegas. I always wanted to cruise the Sunset Strip, and play poker at Caesar’s Palace. Now that would be a vacation to write home about… 😎
Christmas day is the only holiday I get off. This will be me and my wife’s first Christmas as grandparents. I plan on enjoying the day off work .. unless its on a Sunday … because I always take Sundays off. My wife will demand that I drop a couple paychecks to buy people gifts, because that is what Jesus wants.
Oh by the way … My wife is a Christian and I am an atheist ….. so I get to run around all day singing happy birthday Jesus while my wife gives me the evil side eye.
I love that woman 🙂
Hi Stan,
Congrats for being grandpa and for being grandma for your wife.
You both sound to be a very happy couple and that is the most important thing, despite the difference between belief and disbelief.
BTW. I am a Muslim. A moderate Muslim, a practice Muslim. But I have two sisters who are Christians..:))
All religions are silly in my opinion… but I like to live a society where people can think and/or do almost anything they like.
Do Muslims celebrate Chrismas in any way ? I know he is considered a prophet in your religion.
No, we don’t celebrate Christmas but we are not prohibited to greet Christians ‘A Merry Christmas’, come to their Christmas invitation to have lunch or dinner with them. Good for her. I am glad to hear this.
we don’t have a holiday around now, not until Xmas.
by that time i want to go to spain to keep myself warm for a week or two
Spain is good.
I assume you are somewhere in the US?
no, in europe, a few 1000 km north of southern spain
It’s evening there now.
Is it Portugal?
xxxxxxxx, ssssstt, it’s a secret
Haha…okay. Thanks.
Nice to meet you ‘new rose’
You can edit your comment if you like
You seems new on here?
another secret only my friends may know, my older account got into too much trouble
Is it Gul?
no 😀
Who then, Naz? =D
no, a girl, but i don’t want my old name on the page, to avoid trouble
Okay, then.
No problem. I feel I know you well. It’s just a matter of name….:)
Belgium? Interesting. I’ll make Murn happy and resist the temptation here, but if you ever get off this site, where politics aren’t allowed, I’d like to ask you about what is going on in Belgium now politically.
Antwerp was the last foreign port I hit while in the USN. I thought it was a beautiful city, and I hope it is taken care of.
Antwerp has been the main port in Belgium we ship containers to…:))
And port Zeebrugge too…:))
What I remember most fondly about Antwerp is its stunningly beautiful cathedral. We got caught in a cold, heavy rain and spent several hours under cover at this cathedral. The locals hated it though, and I never could understand why.
That sounds awesome.
That’s strange that the local people hated it, curious what their reason is.
I’ve been familiar with the name but have never been there till date.
I hope I’ll get there one day. Amen..:)
antwerp is interesting, lively like the other large flemish cities, nothing much ever changes, including politically
OMG Ibu, how did such a petite woman as yourself eat all that delicious looking food?
Our Thanksgiving Day turkey will be in the same tradition as set over many years…at the Fly Cafe in Ubud.
Selamat hari raya, Ibu!

Malam Bapak,
It was delicious.
I remember that cafe, I met you both there….
My best regards to Erie.
I haven’t sent the invite so I did some edit there if you’ll like to take a look at the new content…:))
I’ll be right back.
please add me to your list of invites, thank you 🙂
With pleasure 🙂
Great revision. Here’s a good pic so they can get an idea what the north of Bali looks like.
Mimpi manis, bu!
